Suspect apprehended following desecration of Virgin Mary and Altar arson in Medjugorje

Ilijana Milos, spokesperson for the cantonal interior ministry, stated that the individual suspected of the criminal acts was apprehended within the territory of the West Herzegovina Canton.

The arrest follows a series of incidents in which a statue of the Virgin Mary on Podbrdo was damaged, followed by an early morning fire that broke out at 5 am on the exterior altar behind Saint James Church in Medjugorje.

The Interior Ministry did not provide any other information on the identity of the suspect.
