Thousands attend funeral of beloved Bosnian music legend Halid Beslic in Sarajevo

Following the funeral prayer, the procession carrying Beslic’s coffin will move through central Sarajevo from the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque to the Bare City Cemetery, allowing citizens one last opportunity to pay their respects.

Previously, a commemorative ceremony was held at the National Theatre in Sarajevo in honor of Beslic, celebrating his immense contributions to the Bosnian music scene and his humanitarian efforts. Across Bosnia and Herzegovina, citizens had also expressed their grief and respect through songs performed in tribute to the late singer.

The ceremony at the National Theatre brought together his family, friends, and close collaborators, as well as numerous public figures from Bosnia and Herzegovina and fellow musicians from the region.

After a series of heartfelt speeches and shared memories, the gathering concluded with a thunderous applause, a final tribute from the crowd to the legendary Halid Beslic.
