A new adventure park has opened in Ilincica, Tuzla. It will be available to all citizens of Tuzla, as well as other visitors to this recreational site. By enhancing its offerings, Ilincica has become an important destination, enriching the city's tourist attractions.
The new park offers adrenaline, adventure, and nature. Using the facilities is not allowed without appropriate safety equipment and supervision from trained personnel. The park was installed in accordance with all safety standards.
“The variety of activities caters to all ages. From a small adrenaline park for young children to activities for teenagers and adults, including the adrenaline park, zipline, and an artificial climbing wall,” explains the contractor, Mirjan Durmo.
This project is significant for the local community, especially for Ilincica, which is visited daily by Tuzla residents.
“We have enhanced Ilincica’s offerings to make it even more attractive and appealing to all guests and citizens of Tuzla. In this way, we have improved the quality of life at this location,” says Tuzla’s mayor, Zijad Lugavic.
Amra Jaganjac from the Tuzla Tourist Board highlights the importance of this type of attraction for the city.
“…because we can offer tourists and guests an alternative to the Pannonian Lakes,” she adds.
As part of the same project, nine locations in Serbia have been equipped with rest areas, playgrounds, and spaces promoting active relaxation. Cooperation between Tuzla and Western Serbia benefits both regions.
“We are excited to welcome guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I believe that in addition to the fantastic Pannonian Lakes, people from Serbia will now have the chance to visit Tuzla not only for the lakes but also for the Ilincica recreation area. I promise to bring children here next summer to see all that Tuzla has to offer,” says Nemanja Nesic, director of the Tourism Organization of Western Serbia.
Amira Kavgic from the Tuzla-based Development Association “Nerda” explains that many educational activities were conducted “where service providers and institutions in the tourism sector built their capacities in sustainable management of such locations, as well as communication with tourists, diverse groups, and their various demands.”
These projects showcase the opportunities provided by European funds and open up avenues for cross-border collaboration.
“The city of Tuzla has a proactive approach to attracting investments. We have the highest number of applications to EU funds and the most approved projects on an annual basis, drawing from EU funds,” emphasizes Lugavic.
This specific project cost €394,000, with 85% co-financed by the EU through the Serbia-BiH Cross-Border Cooperation Program.
This adrenaline park will not be the only attraction in Ilincica. In the coming period, the city of Tuzla plans to further develop this area with the help of EU funds, all to promote healthy living and strengthen the city’s tourist offerings.
