The delivery of new US helicopters intended for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), should be completed by the end of the year, the BiH Defence Ministry said.
“At the moment, we have confirmation that the new US Bell Huey II helicopters (military designation UH-1H-II) should be delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina during the next month (December), as planned,” the ministry told the Fena news agency.
The Ministry explained that the Contract on the procurement of four helicopters of military code UH-1H-II, signed on December 13, 2019, in Sarajevo. The procurement is worth a total of 38,539,378 US dollars, of which Bosnia and Herzegovina paid 4,360,000 US dollars.
The remaining amount was provided by the United States Government through funds from U.S. programs to assist friendly countries Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Funds (FMF).
