Worker dies after explosion at Zenica steel plant

The victim was identified as Mirnes Kameric from the village of Begov Han near Zenica.

The explosion occurred during routine work involving the transfer of oxygen from a tanker, authorities previously said.

Following the incident, prosecutors ordered an on-site investigation involving fire safety inspectors from the Zenica-Doboj Canton Interior Ministry, labour safety inspectors from the Cantonal Inspectorate Administration, and a court-appointed mechanical engineering expert specialising in energy systems.

The circumstances surrounding the explosion remain under investigation.
