Sarajevo Canton authorities set a plan to renew the fleet of its public transportation company, by purchasing 25 modern electric buses, first ones after 35 years, the cantonal authorities said on Tuesday.
Total cost of the planned purchase amounts to 15 million Euro, which Sarajevo Canton will try to get through a loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), whose experts will have the final say in the selection of manufacturers.
The electric buses will be equipped with sophisticated tools including the advanced payment system, passenger count, access for persons with disabilities, LED lighting, etc.
The first electric bus is expected on Sarajevo streets within eight months after the signing of the contract.
