Strongest BiH Croat Party leader: Mostar City Council to be formed ASAP

The City of Mostar was without a City Council for far too long, the leader of strongest BiH Croat party, Dragan Covic, said Sunday morning after casting his ballot, adding that the Council will be formed very soon after the election.

“I hope the elections will be held in plece, that transparency will ve preserved and that we'll know the results around 11 pm tonight so that we could form the majority and form the City Council very quickly. We've been without the City Council for far too long,” the leader of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) said, adding that these are not historic, bur certainly are very important elections for this city.

Mostar polling stations have opened at 7 am Sunday morning for the first time after 12 years. Mostar residents will have the opportunity to vote for the City Council which will then elect a new City Mayor. Polling stations will close at 7 pm Sunday.
