Denis Becirovic, the newly appointed member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, met with US Ambassador Michael Murphy on Tuesday to discuss the political developments in the country. The ambassador said he hoped that new parliamentary majorities at all levels of authority will turn to reforms to move the country out of the stagnation.
The officials among other issues talked about the country's Euro-Atlantic road with accent on the intensifying of reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to Becirovic's office.
The Presidency member emphasised on this occasion that Bosnia appreciates the support of the United States as well as the necessity of international presence in the country, primarily the EUFOR Althea mission. He also assessed as important the assistance of the US Defence Department and other institutions to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Commenting on the current political situation in BiH, Murphy said he expected the new parliamentary majorities at all levels of authority will turn towards accelerated implementation of reforms, which would move the country out of the stagnation.
The Presidency members Denis Becirovic, Zeljka Cvijanovic and Zeljko Komsic took office last week following the victory in the October 2 elections.
