During his speech at the 79th United Nations General Assembly, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirovic, emphasized Bosnia's long history and resilience. He highlighted the country's progress since the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, stressing its goal of joining NATO and the EU.

Becirovic addressed global issues, stating, “We live in a world of injustice and insecurity. It's time to prioritize human lives over weapons,” and criticized the disproportionate investment in arms over efforts to eradicate poverty. He also condemned the glorification of war criminals and stressed the need for a global consensus in fighting terrorism.

He thanked the UN for passing a resolution on the International Day of Remembrance for the Srebrenica Genocide, calling it a “highly moral and civilized act.” Becirovic warned of renewed threats to Bosnia’s sovereignty from Serbia, referencing the June 2023 “All-Serbian Congress Declaration” as a destabilizing document. Despite these challenges, he reaffirmed Bosnia’s commitment to peace, cooperation, and preserving its unity.
