Milorad Dodik, Bosnian Serb leader and fugitive from justice, said that Republika Srpska entity is not giving up on the new constitution nor from being part of the military alliance between Serbia and Hungary, adding that letter regarding this matter will be sent out in the next few days.

"We also see the issue of internal security in this military alliance. We have the resources and in that regard we can cooperate and have joint exercises with the police forces of Hungary and Serbia," Dodik told Serbian daily Vecernje novosti.

Dodik also said that the opposition in Republika Srpska is not participating in the adoption of the new constitution because "it listens to Sarajevo", noting that Republika Srpska has the right to an army and border police according to both the Dayton Peace Accords and the Constitution.

"We are not asking for anything new. An important request is that a referendum be held before the adoption of the Constitution, and that will be considered," Dodik said.

He added that there was an interesting proposal from public discussions that the referendum should be held on January 9th and stressed that this would be taken into consideration.
