Dodik says Republika Srpska ready for dialogue after UN, US messages

Former Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that the authorities in the Bosnian entity have understood the messages from the United Nations Security Council and the United States about the need for dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina and are ready to talk until solutions are found.

“We are ready to talk and will continue to do so until a solution is reached, or until the talks become completely meaningless. In any case, we have clearly understood the positions expressed by the Security Council,” Dodik said on Saturday in Banja Luka after lighting candles for victims of the Novi Sad canopy collapse anniversary.
He thanked Russia and China for what he called their “principled and constructive approach” during Friday’s UN Security Council session.
“I also want to thank Serbia and Croatia for expressing the position that Bosnia and Herzegovina must have an equal and fair dialogue,” Dodik added.

He said there had been a “significant shift” in international attitudes, noting that the current US administration’s stance indicates it does not intend to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries or pursue interventionist policies.
“This means that domestic leaders, and here in particular the constituent peoples, must sit down and reach an agreement. This is something we haven’t heard from certain US structures for a long time,” Dodik emphasised.
