FBiH Trade Ministry launches ‘Compare the Prices’ project to boost market transparency

In addition to representatives of the Ministry and IT experts engaged in developing the application, members of the Employers’ Association – trade group also attended the meeting, confirming the partnership and cooperation between institutions and the business community in the implementation of this project.

The “Compare the Prices” project is designed as a market tool that enables citizens, through a simple web and mobile application (Android and iOS), to access clear, accurate, and comparable information on prices of food and hygiene products in retail outlets across the Federation of BiH.

“The goal of the project is to ensure a transparent and competitive market, where information is available to everyone under equal conditions,” said the FBiH Minister of Trade Amir Hasicevic.

He added that citizens have the right to precise and comparable price information and that transparency is the foundation of fair market competition.

“Transparency confirms the strength and integrity of the market. Clear rules apply in the Federation of BiH, leaving no room for non-transparent practices. The ‘Compare the Prices’ project represents an important step toward a modern, digital, and accountable market,” Hasičević emphasized.

The digital system includes a user platform for citizens, a dedicated system for retail outlets, and an administrative panel for data management. Administrative and technical details, as well as the obligations of traders regarding the submission and updating of price data, will be precisely defined by the relevant regulation.

The meeting agreed on the technical and operational steps for launching the project’s pilot phase, including the model for data submission and regular updates, as well as a clear division of responsibilities among all involved stakeholders, the FBiH Ministry of Trade stated.
