The Israeli Ambassador to Albania and Bosnia was reprimanded and withdrawn from his position back to Israel a bit earlier, making room for a new Ambassador to arrive in his place. Speaking exclusively for N1, Sam Sokol, a journalist from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, said that it is not often that an ambassador is recalled. He pointed out that the Ambassador in question was on his way out, but that he still caused a diplomatic scandal.
Sokol noted that this move by the Ambassador shocked Israel because they did not understand how this fits into Israeli politics and what the specific diplomatic or political goal of getting involved in an internal issue would be.
