High-ranking Republika Srpska entity officials attend memorial service for war criminal Ratko Mladic

A memorial service for convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic was held at the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Banja Luka.

The service was attended by high-ranking political and military figures including Republika Srpska Minister of Labour and Veterans Protection Radan Ostojic, RS Minister of Internal Affairs Zeljko Budimir, RS Veterans Organization head Milovan Gagic, and Alliance of Independent Social Democrats leader Milorad Dodik.

VišePrior to the service, officials including RS Prime Minister Savo Minic gathered to light candles in his memory, while similar tributes were also organized in Trebinje.
Mladic was handed a final life sentence by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague for genocide in Srebrenica, crimes against humanity, genocide and violations of the laws and customs of war during the conflict in Bosnia, and had been serving his sentence in the Hague detention unit until his recent death.
