High Rep at Antalya Diplomacy Forum: Most serious crisis in BiH since 1995
The High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, who is participating in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World”, said in his discussions with forum participants that BiH "faces the most serious crisis since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement" and that crisis stems from an "unprecedented attack on the Dayton framework and the country’s constitutional order" by the authorities of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity.
Schmidt informed interlocutors that the latest measures adopted by the Republika Srpska National Assembly represent a significant threat to peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
"Under the structure established by the Dayton Agreement, all ethnic groups and others enjoy equal rights. This structure can only be amended or supplemented through joint agreement. Everyone is urged to stay committed to this shared path—there are no unilateral solutions", says a post by the Office of the High Representative (OHR) on X.Schmidt used the opportunity to underline the urgent need to strengthen the functionality of state institutions to ensure they are resilient and capable of responding effectively to ongoing and future challenges.
