Member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Zeljko Komsic said on Friday that he and Croatian President Zoran Milanovic had never been friends, adding that the insistence on changing the election law with threats was a continuation of a policy whose ultimate goal was to break up Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Earlier this week, Milanovic said that as a former leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of Croatia he supported his “buddy” Komsic in the first campaign for a member of the tripartite Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that he was naive and that he ended the friendship when he saw that the current Croat member of the Presidency was a “thief”.

Komsic said that Milanovic was using him in conflict with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic but that he wasn't worried about that but about the way the president of a neighbouring country was treating Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“These are neither friendly nor good neighbourly relations,” said Komsic.

He added that neither Milanovic nor HDZ BiH leader Dragan Covic presented a problem to him, but the policy which, according to him, continued all that started in 1992 and 1993, that is, the alleged agreement to break up Bosnia and Herzegovina, now under the pretext of the need to change the election law.

He said it was necessary to continue to fight for the survival of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should now be led by political rather than military means.
