Based on the measurements by the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute and the average at 8:00 a.m., conducted at the locations of automatic reference air quality measurement stations across Sarajevo Canton, the Air Quality Index indicates a moderate to polluted air quality condition, depending on the measurement location.
Moderate air quality was recorded at the locations of City Hall (Sarajevo Old Town), Ilijas and Hadzici settlements, while polluted air quality was recorded at the measurement stations in the city municipalities of Novi Grad, Centar, Ilidza and the Vogosca settlement.
Compared to Friday's measurements, when a sharp deterioration in air quality was recorded, current data indicate stabilization and slight improvement in air quality at certain measurement locations, although elevated concentrations of pollutants are still present in some areas.
According to the weather forecast until the end of the day, cloudy weather with snow is expected, with precipitation mainly in the second half of the day. The maximum daily temperature will be around 1 degree with a light wind from the north and northwest, at a speed of 1 to 3 m/s. According to available meteorological data, conditions for a temperature inversion are not expected, which may contribute to the stabilization of air quality, the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute announced.
