The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide has launched a new website, Negatorigenocida.info, dedicated to monitoring and documenting instances of genocide denial and war crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The platform is aimed at combatting any form of relativization or glorification of crimes adjudicated by international or domestic courts.

“Each case of denial or glorification will be carefully documented, analyzed, and forwarded to relevant institutions, including the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for further action,” the Association stated.

Murat Tahirovic, President of the Association, highlighted the inadequate response of judicial institutions in prosecuting genocide denial, criticizing the lack of action by prosecutors. He expressed frustration over delays, citing a lack of investigators, but stressed that this should not be an excuse for failing to pursue those responsible for denying genocide.

Tahirovic also pointed out that, according to existing laws, cantonal prosecutors in the Federation of BiH have the authority to prosecute these offences.

The Association encourages citizens to report any instances of genocide denial or the glorification of war criminals.

A UN resolution passed in May 2024, establishing July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance for the Genocide in Srebrenica, along with the slow pace of justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has contributed to a rise in revisionist narratives. According to a recent report by the Srebrenica Memorial Center, 305 cases of genocide denial were recorded in BiH and Serbian media in the first half of 2024, marking a threefold increase compared to 2023.
