CNN's Nic Robertson discussed with N1's Ika Ferrer Gotic Ukraine's EU candidate status which was recently granted without delay amidst the Russian invasion. Although symbolic, the candidate status is a proof of Ukraine's determination to advance on the European path but obtaining the final status of an EU member state could take up to ten years, according to Robertson. He also spoke about Bosnia's position on the EU path.
Asked what comes next for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Robertson said it took long for the country to get in the position to begin the path to join the EU.
According to him, North Macedonia might be the closest among the Western Balkan nations to the EU membership, closely followed by Albania, which creates a “useful momentum and narrative as well for Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
