OSCE Mission in BiH: Journalists must be able to work freely and safely
The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mission) condemns the reported attack on BN Television journalist Vesna Vukmirovic and her crew while they were carrying out their professional duties near Doboj.
The Mission emphasized that journalists must be able to work freely and safely, without intimidation, threats, or violence.
"Attacks on media professionals undermine media freedom, the public's right to information and democratic accountability," they stated.
The Mission calls on the relevant authorities to investigate this incident promptly, thoroughly and impartially, ensuring those responsible are held accountable under the law.
"Protecting journalists and fostering an environment where independent media can operate without fear are central to any democratic society’s commitment to freedom of expression," the OSCE stated.
