The officials share a common and longstanding position that transatlantic relations and European integration remain very important, the OHR said.
According to the statement, High Representative expressed concern over the recent challenges to stability and functionality of state institutions that are coming from RS ruling coalition and reaffirmed the importance of upholding the Dayton Peace Agreement and maintaining the integrity of state institutions.
The High Representative also emphasized the need for continued international engagement to support reforms and democratic consolidation.
“While the meeting was forward-looking and informal in nature, it can be counted on that the incoming German government under Mr. Merz will work closely with the wider international community, including Office of the High Representative, in ensuring peace, stability, and progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Schmidt.
