
Consumer prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the Consumer Price Index, were on average 0.2 percent lower in August compared to the previous month. On an annual basis, prices in August were on average 4.1 percent higher than in the same month last year.

In August, compared to the previous month, average price increases were recorded for clothing and footwear by 0.1 percent, housing and utility costs by 0.2 percent, healthcare by 0.4 percent, recreation and culture by 0.6 percent, education by 0.1 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.1 percent, and other goods and services by 0.3 percent, stated the Agency for Statistics of BiH.
At the same time, average prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 0.4 percent, and transport by 0.8 percent.
Compared to August of the previous year, food and non-alcoholic beverages were on average 9.2 percent more expensive, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 3.7 percent, housing and utilities 0.2 percent, furniture, household appliances and routine household maintenance 1.1 percent, healthcare 6.1 percent, communications 0.3 percent, recreation and culture 4.9 percent, education 2.4 percent, restaurants and hotels 7.2 percent, and other goods and services 3.5 percent.

Clothing and footwear were on average 5.7 percent cheaper, and transport 2.7 percent cheaper than in the same period last year.
