European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in conflict with the presence of the Office of the High Representative, said Nikola Spiric, a senior official of the SNSD party, the ruling party in Republika Srpska entity, commenting on the decision of High Representative Christian Schmidt, who annulled two laws recently passed in the entity parliament of Republika Srpska.

Spiric, who is the speaker of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that Christian Schmidt's decision of today is “yet another performance and open-air theatre.”

Spiric's SNSD party leadership and the leadership of the Serb-majority entity do not recognise Schmidt as the international community's representative, so its parliament recently passed law changes banning the publication of Schmidt's decision in Republika Srpska Official Gazette.

“His address won't change anything as far as Republika Srpska is concerned, but will change within BiH and its European part. Since he made a decision on what will be implemented out of 14 priorities for the accession of BiH to the EU, I am inviting him to implement all 14 (priorities) and to fully make meaningless the existence of the institutions of BiH,” said Spiric.

Speaking to Srna news agency, he said that the entity parliament's decision have a legitimacy and that Schmidt's announcement only damages BiH.

“This is a proof that there is no room to any agreement of political actors within BiH, the country that is completely institutionally drained,” he added.

Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpska entity and the SNSD leader, will address the public regarding Schmidt's decisions on Sunday, his cabinet has confirmed.
