The event took place in the Bosnian capital, attended by dozens of people, according to an N1 reporter.

“Today is truly special, not just for me but for everyone who believes in freedom. After more than half a century of tyranny and 13 years of struggle, I can proudly say we have succeeded. To be free is to live, and to live is to be free," one speaker said.

The gathering expressed hopes for a joyful Syria:
“Congratulations to us all on a free Syria. A Syria where children’s faces will smile again, where no mother mourns her child’s disappearance or loss, where the rule of law prevails. A Syria where every child will know trees, birds, and sunshine. A Syria that will love us as much as we love her.”

Participants also expressed hopes to one day celebrate a free Palestine as they celebrate Syria today.
