Tax Inspections in Bosnia’s Federation entity result in €132,800 in fines
Between January 27 and 31, tax inspectors from the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity conducted 239 rapid inspections across the entity, imposing fines totalling 259,700 Bosnian marks (approximately €132,800) due to identified violations.

The inspections targeted businesses operating in hospitality, retail, gambling, bakery, and other service sectors. Authorities discovered 407 registered workers and 29 unregistered workers. Additionally, two businesses were found operating without official approval, one lacked a fiscal cash register, and 74 businesses failed to properly record transactions through fiscal devices.
Numerous violations were recorded, including employment of unregistered workers, operating without a license, absence of fiscal devices, and failure to record transactions. As a result, 18 businesses were sealed, and 121 fines were issued.
Regional Breakdown of Inspections
- Sarajevo Canton: 61 inspections led to 10 unregistered workers, one unlicensed business, and 10 cases of unrecorded transactions. Six businesses were sealed, and 25 fines were issued, totaling 51,500 marks (€26,300).
- Tuzla Canton: 28 inspections uncovered two unregistered workers and eight cases of unrecorded transactions. Two businesses were sealed, and 13 fines were issued, totaling 27,500 marks (€14,100).
- Zenica-Doboj Canton: 60 inspections found four unregistered workers, one unlicensed business, one business without a fiscal device, and 17 businesses failing to record transactions. Three businesses were sealed, and 19 fines were issued, totalling 26,800 marks (€13,700).
- Herzegovina-Neretva Canton: 40 inspections identified four unregistered workers and 16 cases of unrecorded transactions. Three businesses were sealed, and 24 fines were issued, totalling 60,700 marks (€31,000).
- Central Bosnia Canton: 20 inspections led to six unregistered workers and 11 cases of unrecorded transactions. One business was sealed, and 19 fines were issued, totaling 53,400 marks (€27,300).
- Una-Sana Canton: 20 inspections revealed three unregistered workers and nine businesses failing to record transactions. Three businesses were sealed, and 13 fines were issued, totalling 27,300 marks (€14,000).
- West Herzegovina Canton: 10 inspections found three businesses failing to record transactions. Eight fines were issued, totalling 12,500 marks (€6,400).
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to strict tax enforcement, aiming to reduce illegal employment and ensure compliance with fiscal regulations.
