Aleksandra Subotic, CEO of United Media, the largest media company in Southeast Europe, emphasized the importance of United Group's investment in renewable energy during the energy panel in Sofia.
For a company managing 120 media operations, this type of investment is incredibly encouraging, Subotic stated, highlighting how sustainability is becoming a key focus across all business segments, including the media industry.
She noted that media production and the broader media sector are energy-intensive, especially with the rapid development of technologies like artificial intelligence and advanced production tools.
The group is well aware of the high energy consumption in media production and the industry as a whole. Therefore, green energy is something United Media truly looks forward to, Subotic added.
It is worth recalling that United Group has announced a €120 million investment in four renewable energy projects in Bulgaria, which include three solar power plants and a wind farm. These projects are part of the company’s broader initiative to reduce its carbon footprint and support sustainable development.
