Representatives of the World Uyghur Congress visited the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals in Sarajevo, where they agreed to open and mutual familiarization with the history and cultural heritage of Bosniaks and Uyghurs.

The visiting delegation was led by the president of the aforementioned organization, Isa Dolkun, and the meeting took place during her official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the special focus of which was the attendance at the commemoration in Srebrenica dedicated to the victims of the 1995 genocide.

On behalf of the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals, the delegation was received by Secretary-General Emir Zlatar, and Sejfudin Hodzic, adviser to the Speaker and deputy at the BiH Parliament's House of Peoples, was also present.

The guests presented the very difficult position of the Uyghur people, the activities and projects that their organization carries out to document and inform the international public about systematic crimes with elements of genocide, which the Chinese state authorities are carrying out in the province where the Uyghur people have been the absolute majority for centuries. They are particularly worried about a kind of media blockade and silence so that the ethnic cleansing of the Uyghurs takes place in “silence”, far from the democratic international public.

Regardless of China's strategic national interests, it is unacceptable for state interests to be carried out by force and killing others who are different especially on ethnic and religious basis.

It was agreed that in the coming period communication channels should be opened in scientific-research cooperation on crimes against humanity and international law, advocacy for the rule of law within international relations, and mutual familiarization with the history and cultural heritage of Bosniaks and Uyghurs.
