Ivanic: Notning wrong with Matviyenko's statements

Bosnia’s Presidency member Mladen Ivanic commented on the Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko’s meeting with the Bosnian tripartite Presidency and her address before the boards of both houses of Bosnian Parliament.

“Of course, there are different concepts on how Bosnia should look like and they were expressed during the talks in the last two days, just like on earlier occasions. Russia is a country that gave a key contribution to the creation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the war in Bosnia, and they have the right and the obligation to express their attitudes concerning the implementation of the Agreement,” Ivanic said.

He thinks that the criticism that appeared in the media and among the Bosniak politicians are not good, because nothing that Matviyenko said about Bosnia was wrong.

“Honestly, I too have said that the Office of the High Representative, which monitors the Dayton Peace Agreement implementation, should be shut down, on many occasions. I don’t find that statement problematic and I find it to be a legitimate political opinion,” Ivanic said. “I expect Rusia to have a clear stance concerning the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which they do. The fact that someone does or does not like that is out of our hands,” Ivanic said.
