Tuesday, July 31, will be declared Day of Mourning, to mark the death of the legendary Croatian singer Oliver Dragojevic, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Monday.
The decision was made at an extraordinary government session and was supported by all the members of the government, the Prime Minister wrote on his Twitter.
Oliver Dragojevic was one of Croatia's most iconic singers who has, in a career spanning four decades, performed in Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Olympia in Paris, and the Sydney Opera House. He died on Sunday, aged 70, one year after he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
All the national flags at government buildings will be flown at half-staff tomorrow, but planned official events will not be cancelled, the government said.
