Data released by Bosnia’s Statistics Agency reveals that these visitors accounted for 228,214 overnight stays throughout the month. This figure represents a 5.5 percent uplift from February 2026 and a 10.1 percent improvement on March 2025. The market remains significantly driven by international interest, with foreign travellers making up 68.5 percent of all stays, while domestic tourists accounted for the remaining 31.5 percent.

Domestic engagement showed resilience, with overnight stays by local residents rising by 2.2 percent month-on-month and climbing 12.8 percent against the previous year's figures. Meanwhile, international visitors increased their overnight presence by 7.1 percent compared to February and by 8.9 per cent relative to March 2025.

Neighbouring nations continue to dominate the visitor profile. Tourists from Croatia led the way, contributing 26.3 percent of all foreign overnight stays. Serbia and Slovenia followed with 15.6 per cent and 7.8 per cent respectively. Turkey maintained a strong presence at 7.2 per cent, while Italy and Germany each accounted for 4.1 percent.

Visitors from Montenegro rounded out the primary group at 3.2 percent. Together, these seven nations comprise nearly 70 percent of the international market, underscoring Bosnia’s enduring appeal to both its immediate neighbours and key European partners.
