Dragan Covic, the leader of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) and BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik congratulated Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic and Hungary’s Viktor Orban on their election victories on Monday, “on behalf of their people”

“On behalf of the Croat people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on behalf of my homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina I send my sincere congratulations to Aleksandar Vucic on another won presidential mandate and the achieved election results of the Serbian Progressive Party in Serbia”, Covic wrote.

“I believe that you will responsibly use the strong historical trust of the citizens of Serbia and that the achieved result will create another strong mandate for successful political steps of you and your party. I also believe that our good cooperation, friendship and lasting ties between our homelands, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, will be further deepened and strengthened for the benefit of all our peoples. With expressions of my sincere respect, desire for success in future work as well as good health and satisfaction in your personal life, I cordially greet you,” reads Covic's congratulatory message to Vucic.

Also, the HDZ BiH leader expressed “exceptional satisfaction” over the victory of the Hungarian Civil Alliance, led by Orban.

“This glorious victory is solid proof of the confidence of the Hungarian people in the vision of the future based on the Christian Democrat principles of the FIDESZ party you lead. I am convinced that in the near future we will have the opportunity to meet when we will further strengthen the ties between our two peoples and countries, through a friendly conversation,” Covic added.

In the end, he wished Orban good health and once again “expressed special respect”.

BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik congratulated the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban on his victory in the parliamentary elections, emphasizing that the role of Hungary as a regional leader was confirmed, not only within the EU, but also towards nations that have not yet become part of the European Union.

“As a Serb member of the BiH Presidency, but above all as a leader of Serbs and institutions of the Republika Srpska [entity], and as a sincere friend, I congratulate you on this great victory which is important not only for Hungarians and Hungary, but also for Serbs from the Republika Srpska, Serbia, but also Hungary,” said Dodik.

He added that the relations between the two nations, from whichever side of the border they come from, are at a historical level “which we must at least maintain”.

“From our side, there is a sincere intention to improve this relationship and enrich the content of new projects that will further connect our peoples, infrastructurally, but also culturally and in every other way that will bring progress and prosperity for all,” said Dodik in his message to Orban.
