Milorad Dodik, the President of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska, questioned the role of High Representative Christian Schmidt in hosting Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, suggesting that he might have missed a "coup" in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“I was busy with the elections these past days, and it seems I missed that a coup took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that instead of Konakovic, Schmidt is now the minister, receiving foreign ministers and discussing the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Dodik wrote on X.
He questioned Schmidt's authority in hosting the Czech Foreign Minister, saying, “Diplomatic courtesy dictates that the Czech Republic’s Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský should not interfere in the internal affairs of another country, and half of Bosnia and Herzegovina views Schmidt as merely a German citizen on temporary stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Earlier today, High Representative Schmidt met with Lipavský to discuss current political developments.
