The President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, said he is “not too enthusiastic” about the European Council potentially granting BiH candidate status on Thursday, arguing that this should come with the abolishment of international supervision in the country.

“I have to say that I am not too enthusiastic, especially because everyone trampled on what they said earlier about the candidate status, which is that when you reach the candidate status, the international administration here will end, and they are still strengthening it,” Dodik said.

“Some volume of lies exists continuously, they continue to retain a false High Representative, (foreign) judges in the Constitutional Court, they do not agree on resolving this,” he said.

“Whether we will join the EU depends on our will and not on the will of foreigners, and this means that we will run into some new problems. Not that I'm against membership, but I don't expect anything,” said Dodik.
