Milorad Dodik, President of BiH's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, stated on Tuesday evening at the National Assembly of Republika Srpska that 300 members of the Hungarian special police had arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina this week. According to him, they are stationed at the facilities of the RS Ministry of Interior in Banja Luka.
“I must inform you that I am proud. I have agreed with Prime Minister (Viktor) Orban that their anti-terrorist unit, 300 people, will come to RS and conduct training and exercises together with the RS Ministry of Interior's Special Anti-Terrorist Unit,” Dodik said.
Hungarian special forces arrived in RS just days before the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case against Dodik. It is currently unknown how these special forces entered BiH. N1 sent an inquiry to the Border Police and is still awaiting a response.
Dodik met with Viktor Orban last week. According to a statement from Dodik’s office, the main topics of discussion were joint projects and the current political situation in Europe.
The Hungarian Prime Minister stated that he hopes “new winds” in international politics will put an end to political attacks on the President of Republika Srpska. After the meeting, Dodik emphasized that Orban is a reliable partner and a man with vision, adding that many of his predictions have proven to be accurate.
