European Union's military deployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina dismissed the allegations about planning the arrest of Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik that was recently announced in a Serbian media outlet.
“The allegations recently published on the Serbian ‘Srpski Telegraf’ regarding EUFOR arresting Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik for corruption, are nonsense and a completely baseles story,” said the EUFOR.
It was also stressed that the EUFOR remains committed to supporting the BiH authorities in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the population country.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity said it received the information from partner services that “certain groups” are threatening the safety of Dodik and his family, which prompted the police to raise the security to the highest level.
After the US expanded the sanctions on Dodik in January this year for undermining the stability of Bosnian institutions and corrupt activities, he was also targeted by the UK Government's sanctions this week for undermining the legitimacy, functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
