The inspections revealed that 23% of the sampled betting shops were operating in violation of FBiH laws. As a result, inspectors issued misdemeanor orders in 241 cases, totaling 949,550 Bosnian marks (some €485,500) in fines. In Sarajevo Canton alone, 180 inspections were performed, leading to 36 misdemeanor orders and 170,700 marks (€87,280) in penalties.
Tax authorities emphasized that these intensified controls are part of a broader strategy to combat the grey economy and ensure all businesses operate within legal frameworks. The Tax Administration has announced that these high-pressure inspections will continue in the coming period, urging all taxpayers to immediately align their operations with current tax regulations to avoid further legal action.
