Family members and numerous citizens will gather Thursday at 10 am to escort a solemn convoy from Visoko carrying the remains of ten victims of the genocide committed in the summer of 1995 within the Srebrenica area. These individuals will be laid to rest during a collective funeral on July 11 at the Srebrenica - Potočari Memorial Center.

The transport route includes brief stops in Ilijas and Vogosca, as well as several locations within Sarajevo: outside the Presidency Building of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Monument to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo, near the Markale market, and in front of the City Hall. Afterwards, the convoy will travel toward Srebrenica, stopping briefly at the Town Mosque before arriving in Potocari later in the afternoon.

Large crowds are expected to honour the procession along its path. Outside the Presidency Building, family members, friends, citizens of Sarajevo, government officials, international ambassadors, and representatives of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina will pay their respects. Gathered crowds traditionally honour the innocent victims in silence, punctuated by occasional sobs, by reciting Fatiha or offering other appropriate tributes, and placing flowers onto the transport vehicles. The victims will be buried side by side, joining previously interred brothers, fathers, and relatives.

The ten individuals scheduled for burial were victims of the genocide perpetrated against the Bosniaks of the UN Safe Zone in July 1995. Emza Fazlic, spokesperson for the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, stated to Fena that the victims to be buried this year range in age from 20 to 56. Among them are three young men who were in their twenties when they were killed in the areas of Vlasenica, Zvornik, Bratunac, and Srebrenica. Their remains were exhumed years later from various mass graves.
