Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in Thessaloniki at the summit of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) that 2033 should be the deadline for all Western Balkan countries to join the European Union.
That is an ambitious goal for the Western Balkans but I think it could be realistic if the idea of enlargement returns as a basic value of the European Union, Mitsotakis said.
Following the SEECP summit, chaired by Greece, the Greek prime minister called on Southeast Europe to promote the path of peace and international law, common security and prosperity.
That, as he said, is the basis of the Thessaloniki Declaration, which was unanimously adopted.
The summit is also attended by Bosnia Presidency Chairman Sefik Dzaferovic.
