High Representative Christian Schmidt met today with the Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and leader of the HDZ, Dragan Covic, at the Parliament building in Sarajevo.
According to the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the discussion focused on the most pressing political and socioeconomic issues in the country, including the functionality of the state and the need to strengthen the reconciliation process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We need a functional Parliament and all other institutions so that Bosnia and Herzegovina can make decisions and manage processes. This will provide the country with the opportunity to meet its obligations in the accession process and capitalize on the Growth Plan’s potential. Missing this opportunity would greatly disappoint the citizens’ trust,” Schmidt said.
Covic noted that a range of key ongoing issues was discussed.
“All efforts are directed towards the stability, development, and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina as we work on good governance and move forward on our EU path,” Covic stated on the social media platform X.
