Upon arrival, the Hungarian troops were welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Alessandro Guadagno, commander of the EUFOR aviation detachment. According to mission representatives, the rapid airborne deployment of forces demonstrates the capacity of the mission to reinforce its presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina on short notice when necessary.
EUFOR stated that this swift air deployment serves as a concrete indicator of readiness, rapid response capability, and mission credibility. The arrival of the Hungarian contingent continues the deployment of reserve forces from multiple countries arriving via diverse routes and transport modes for the exercise.
EUFOR previously announced that reserve units from France, Austria, Italy, and Romania had already arrived using air, road, and maritime transport. The annual Quick Response 2026 exercise runs from August 22 to September 3 across Bosnia and Herzegovina, aiming to practice the ability to rapidly deploy and integrate additional reserve forces while strengthening unit interoperability.
