According to a warning issued by the FBiH Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rainfall is expected to range mainly from 30 to 60 liters per square meter, while locally, in eastern, southeastern and northern Herzegovina, precipitation could reach 80 to 120 liters per square meter.
Heavy rainfall could cause a rapid rise in water levels, flash flooding, landslides and rockfalls, flooding of buildings and roads, as well as disruptions to electricity and water supplies.
The Civil Protection and Firefighting Service has issued a particular warning to residents of areas previously affected by floods and landslides, as well as those living near watercourses, urging them to exercise extra caution.
The competent services have been tasked with continuously monitoring conditions on the ground and promptly informing the responsible institutions to ensure coordinated action and protect the population, the Municipality of Jablanica said in a statement.
