Milorad Dodik denounces verdict against Hashim Thaçi as a “caricature of justice”

Dodik expressed his outrage in a post on the social media platform X following the court's decision, which sentenced Thaçi to 25 years in prison after finding him guilty of war crimes, including arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture, and murder.

"It is shameful that the systematic killing of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija was not qualified as a war crime against humanity, but rather it appears as though they died as accidental passers-by," Dodik stated. "Thaçi was the ideologue and leader of a terrorist organisation, a direct perpetrator and order-giver."

Dodik argued that these crucial factors were deliberately ignored by the court, asserting that the proceedings demonstrated a broader bias against Serbian victims of the conflict.

"We have known for a long time that there is no justice or law in The Hague, but now we definitely know that there is neither respect nor compassion for Serbian victims," Dodik wrote. "The fact that the trial was held 25 years after the crimes were committed indicates that the intention was to cover up those crimes."
