EUFOR's 'Quick Response' military exercise kicks off

The annual peace support exercise between Bosnia’s Armed Forces, other state law enforcement agencies and the EUFOR Althea mission called "Quick Response 2018" kicked off, Monday. at the EUFOR base in Sarajevo. The exercise was officially opened by Major General Martin Dorfer who presented the details of this exercise.

The “Quick Response 2018” will take place in the areas of Sarajevo, Tuzla and Brcko among others. This annual international exercise involves EUFOR's Multinational Battalion, the elements of the reserve forces from Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania and the United Kingdom.

It includes also the NATO Kosovo Force Tactical Reserve Battalion, travelling from Kosovo to support the exercise.  

The aim of the exercise is to train management and executive forces in solving the crisis situation – attempted armed attack on the airport.  

The European Union Force Althea (EUFOR Althea) is a military deployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina which oversees the military implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement that ended the war in Bosnia.  

The aim if the planned exercise “Quick Response 2018” is for Bosnia’s law enforcement agencies, the country's Armed Forces and the EUFOR to jointly train and check their plans for crisis situations, within a realistic scenario.
