Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez says his side will be targeting all three points when they face Poland in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League on Monday.

The Dragons remain unbeaten in League B, Group 4, while Poland will arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina without suspended striker Robert Lewandowski.

"As for the next match, we all know what each possible result could mean, but of course our goal is to win. We have the experience from our first match against Poland and we will go for all three points," Barbarez said.

Several Bosnia players expended considerable energy against Sweden, with some having played three consecutive matches, but Barbarez said dealing with such demands was part of competing at the highest level.

"Only Edin has retired. Everyone else is here. There is some fatigue, but it is manageable. Some players have played three matches, but I told them that if they want to play at the highest level, this is what it takes."

Barbarez also explained the situation surrounding Samed Bazdar.

"Bazdar was injured for the first two matches. For the last one, Edin came into the squad and I didn't want to have a fifth or sixth striker in the team. Two players will definitely have to watch from the stands, but we will see who they will be."

Barbarez: We have our own goals

Bosnia earned a point in their first match against Poland, but Barbarez refused to dwell on calculations over whether the upcoming game could prove decisive in the battle for second place.

"I'm not a fan of those kinds of calculations. Anything can happen. We now have Poland, but we still have Sweden away and Romania at home. It was clear in all the matches, including Romania's game the other day, that Romania did not look bad until the red card," he said.

"Let's leave the speculation aside. We have our goals, and if we do what we want to do, it could be a major step towards finishing in the top two."

Midfielder Armin Gigovic acknowledged the fatigue within the squad but said the team was determined to finish the international window on a high.

"We feel good. After every match, we try to recover. We know how important it is to beat Poland. We want to finish this international window in the best possible way."

Gigovic reflects on Dzeko's farewell

Gigovic also reflected on Edin Dzeko's final appearance for Bosnia and Herzegovina against Sweden and revealed the message the former captain left his teammates.

"Edin told us to enjoy ourselves. He told us that we are the ones who will carry this generation forward. I can't say enough about him. We can all see how much he has given to this shirt and to this country. It was an honour for me to play in his final match against Sweden. I am truly grateful," Gigovic said.

Dzeko is due to return to Germany on Sunday and will no longer be with the squad. Barbarez said he did not like farewells, adding: "We'll see each other again. The most important thing is that we remain friends who are there for one another."

"Of course Poland will miss Lewandowski"

Barbarez also addressed the absence of Poland's Robert Lewandowski, comparing his importance to Poland with Dzeko's role for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We see Robert in much the same way as Edin. They are personalities who bring people to stadiums and command enormous respect from every opponent," Barbarez said.

"Of course Poland will miss Robert and psychologically it may be easier for us, but I'm sorry he won't be there. I've always liked seeing the great players on the pitch."

Goalkeeper Martin Zlomislic, meanwhile, could return to the starting line-up.

"Martin has almost completely recovered. If he doesn't feel any pain, he will definitely be in goal. If he does, then Salko will play. We have already discussed that and I think that's fair," Barbarez said.
