A group of opposition MPs in Bosnia's State Parliament asked for the reshuffle of the state government, arguing that this was the least productive composition of the Council of Ministers that Bosnia and Herzegovina ever had.
The initiative will be on agenda of the Monday session of the House of Representatives.
The state authorities gather around three parties mostly representing three major ethnic groups – the Bosniak SDA party, the Serb SNSD and the Croat HDZ BiH. The initiative for the vote on the reshuffle of the Council of Ministers was submitted by the centre-right Our Party, Social Democratic Party and Independent Bloc.
This Council of Ministers is the worst in the region in terms of the number of proposed laws and sessions that were held, they said, warning also that almost nothing has been done on meeting the criteria that the European Commission put before Bosnia and Herzegovina on its road to the membership.
“It will take at least ten more years with this pace for the EU to approve the candidate status. The Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of Milan Tegeltija (SNSD) is assessed as the worst and least efficient composition of this institution ever,” the opposition parties said explaining their initiative.
The number of laws the Council sent to the parliamentary procedure is “miserable” and crucial reform documents are not adopted, which is why Bosnia and Herzegovina is constantly criticised by Brussels, they added.
