Members of the Specialized Rubble Rescue Unit - Urban Search and Rescue Unit - USAR team of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, with medics, scent dogs and the necessary equipment are heading to Turkey to help after the devastating earthquake that hit the country. Part of this unit, 25 rescuers, with medics, two dogs with guides, vehicles and the necessary equipment left Bosnia Tuesday night by land.
Sabahudin Spahovic from the USAR team said that they have 42 people on the list who are certified to work in such difficult situations.
“We have a convoy of people. One tour was supposed to leave already, but due to the cancellation of flights from Sarajevo to Istanbul, the first intervention team couldn’t leave. Part of the team is going by land tonight, the other part by plane tomorrow morning,” Spahovic said.
They were escorted by FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalic.
