Four returnee children were beaten up in Stolac, on Sunday evening. They were ambushed on their way back from the game by unknown perpetrators with several cars, at the entrance to Stolac, Federation (FBiH) entity Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Nerin Dizdar announced on his Facebook profile.
Then, he added, they were brutally beaten and tortured.
“This kind of violence must be urgently and severely punished. Support for young men and their families must be unconditional, decisive and clear, as must the reaction of the police and the judiciary. For too long, over 25 years, we heard phrases about the ‘ongoing investigations’ and ‘unknown perpetrators’ when it comes to attacks on returnees. We’ve had more than enough,” Dizdar pointed out.
He noted that violence against returnees must be immediately sanctioned.
“I expect a reaction from the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor's Office, a quick investigation, apprehension and conviction of criminals – nothing less. The circle of possible perpetrators is not particularly large. I expect unique, unequivocal support for returnees from all actors of the social order, from the local to the state level. The Ministry will do everything within its competence for these young men and their families,” Dizdar wrote.
