The investigation into the murder of Prijedor police chief Radenko Basic has not ended with the arrest of the perpetrator and continues in order to establish the motive and developments that led to the murder, the Police Director in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Sinisa Kostresevic, said on Saturday.
Kostresevic said the group behind the murder was connected to “regional criminals” and that all those involved will be group would be detained.
He also stressed that more strict legislation is necessary in order to ensure the protection of police officers.

Last week, police arrested Aleksandar Miljatovic who they suspect participated in the murder of the head of the criminal police of the Prijedor Police Department. He was ordered into custody, together with his alleged assistant Igor Repajic.
According to local media in the RS, it is believed that Dalibor Railic from Prijedor ordered the murder, which was carried out by Miljatovic.
