The House of Representatives voted to dismiss Nenad Nesic, the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is currently in custody.

Out of 34 representatives present, 27 voted in favor of Nesic's dismissal, 7 were against, and none abstained.

Nenad Grkovic from the Justice and Order List filed the motion to dismiss Nesic from his post since he is in custody on suspicion of abuse of office while heading the company Putevi RS.

Before the vote, Grkovic stated that it was a disgrace that Nesic had held this position in the first place.

Midhat Causevic, a representative of the SDA, also mentioned that they had opposed Nesic's appointment as Minister of Security because he did not inspire confidence, particularly after making jokes and mocking victims of genocide.

Sanja Vulic, a representative of SNSD, declared her support for Nesic, saying, “I truly admire Nesic. He is a true Serb, and he will not be shaken by the opinions of so-called Serbs who are voting for his dismissal.” She added, “Nesic will return like a phoenix, stronger and more influential.”

Referring to her claim that “Serbs are cutting off the head of a Serbian minister,” aimed at judges and officials of Serb origin, Grkovic responded, highlighting Nesic's numerous properties, noting that someone with a ministerial salary could not legally own assets worth millions.

Branislav Borenovic, a representative of PDP, criticized the institutional and moral crisis in the country, stating that it took over a month to address Nesic’s dismissal. “In normal countries, this would be resolved immediately. In Croatia, a minister is dismissed in a microsecond over corruption; in Serbia, a construction minister resigns over a tragedy. Where do we live? How did we allow ourselves to sink into such a mess? Taking a bribe of one million BAM and being in custody for a month is an alarm for an immediate dismissal or resignation. Instead, we drag this out and listen to people who see no issue in associating with such individuals. I cannot remain silent or turn a blind eye to massive corruption, no matter who is involved. Please, for the sake of this country and its people, stop ignoring responsibility and turning a blind eye. For me, this is an institutional crisis,” Borenovic stated.

It is worth noting that shortly before the vote, Nesic announced his resignation as Minister of Security. However, since the resignation will only be officially handed in the following day, the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament continued with its pre-scheduled procedure.
