Bosnian Presidency Chairman Sefik Dzaferovic met with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Tuesday, the second day of his official visit to the Netherlands, during which the officials discussed current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the Western Balkans.
According to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the talks focused on the processes of jeopardising of the Dayton Peace Agreement and 27 years of its implementation through the disputing of the state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their competencies. It was emphasised that such processed will not be tolerated and will be stopped, including through restrictive measures.
The two officials also discussed the blockade of the state institutions and stressed the necessity of returning to regular work and decision making in full capacity in order to secure stability and for Bosnia and Herzegovina to achieve accelerated progress on its European path through reform laws that are in line with the European Commission's Opinion on the country's membership application.
Dzaferovic thanked Dutch PM on the principled stands of the Netherlands as an Eu member state towards the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, according to him, had stabilising effects.
The officials also touched upon the implementation of the European Court of Human Rights concerning the equality of all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of their ethnicity. They said it would be inadmissible to attempt to deepen the ethnicity-based discrimination through electoral reform and that this would be contrary to European values, said the Presidency's statement.
Also, it was said that the stance of the Netherlands is that the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be held in accordance with the previously determined deadlines.
Dzaferovic and Rutte assessed the bilateral relations between the two countries as very good and expressed their committment to furhter improvement of cooepration in all fields, particularly in economy.
